Colleen Ruefle-Haley has worked for her dad since she started as an office assistant in 1980 except for a short stint in the field of advertising from 1987 to 1989. She is the first woman president of the Westmoreland Home Builders Association. Colleen Ruefle-Haley won the WHBA "Builder Of The Year Award" in 1994, an award that was previously won by her father in 1990. In 1995, J. Michael Ruefle won the first annual "Golden Hammer Award" from the Realtors Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh, given to the builder who best promotes cooperation between the Realtors Association and Builders Association.
